The Journey...๐Ÿข๐Ÿ“๐ŸŠ

The sassiest hooker on the block reporting in again โ€” and this time, itโ€™s all about fruity little shellmates. I dipped into the 11 Fruit Turtle Bundle pattern by @happyturtlecrochet on Etsy and tested out two flavors: Orange and Strawberry.

๐Ÿงถ Project Details

  • Pattern: Fruit Turtle Bundle (Paid PDF)
  • Designer: Happy Turtle Crochet on Etsy
  • Yarn Used: Bernat Blanket Brights for the Orange, Loops & Threads Demi Purl for the Strawberry
  • Hook Size: Adjusted depending on yarn (because hookers gotta adapt ๐Ÿ˜‰)
  • Skill Level: Not quite beginner, but not terrifying either. Somewhere in that โ€œI can handle a magic circle without cryingโ€ zone.

๐ŸŠ The Orange Strugglebus

Listen, I went TOO thick on the chenille, and boy did my hands pay the price. My muscles were screaming, my patience was fried, and at one point my room looked like a citrus explosion โ€” with failed orange slices tossed around for cat toys. (Which they loved)

Stillโ€ฆ he came out adorable. ๐ŸŠ Just a little (okay, a lot) bigger than planned. Thatโ€™s your friendly reminder: yarn thickness matters unless you want a jumbo turtle stomping around your craft corner.

The Orange pattern also leaves you some wiggle room if you want to add extras or shift placement. Cute and customizable.

๐Ÿ’ก I used a super thick chenille (linked here if you dare) for my Orange turtle โ€” which made her HUGE but adorable. Affiliate link โ†’ Orange Yarn Here.

๐Ÿ“ The Strawberry Star

Now THIS was love at first stitch. Using Loops & Threads Demi Purl (my current cuddle-yarn obsession), everything worked up smooth, soft, and ridiculously cute. No regrets here โ€” Iโ€™m already planning more fruity friends.

The only hiccup? Sewing. This pattern is low sew, not no sew. And your girl here struggles HARD with attaching pieces. Even with skewers, chopsticks, and whispering sweet nothings to my yarn, my placement game is still questionable. Tip: mark stitches as you go โ€” your future self will thank you.

๐Ÿ’ก Hooker Notes

  • Donโ€™t overstuff! You want squish, not a rock-solid fruit turtle.
  • Keep yarn thickness in check (unless youโ€™re purposely making a monster turtle).
  • Not totally beginner-friendly (hello, magic circles), but overall simple enough for the cuteness payoff.
  • Totally recommend if you love fruity projects with personality.

Final Thoughts

Would I make more? Absolutely. The Orange nearly broke me, but the Strawberry brought me back to life. And with ELEVEN fruit options in this bundle, you know Iโ€™ll be back for seconds (and thirds).

Big thanks to @happyturtlecrochet for this juicy pattern โ€” you can grab it on Etsy here and stalk her cuteness on Instagram too.

๐Ÿ’ฌ What fruit turtle would you make first? Orange, strawberry, or something more exotic like dragon fruit? Drop it in the comments โ€” Iโ€™m nosy and need to know.

Signed, your sassiest hooker.
